The Gauntlet is about getting together to play roleplaying games in Houston, with a focus on the story game & OSR community. We meet 2-3 times per week, with Wednesday being our "One Shots" night where we run an open table that welcomes new members.

When the Empire of Isolde fell suddenly, your liege, Duke Thoncek Brenwarum, was quick to lay claim to Skogholm Reach. But with rebels in Irstoia (the Reach’s only permanent settlement), an entire legion of the Duke’s soldiers gone missing and the threat of orc raiders from the eastern plains, the Reach has been difficult to hold.
So the Duke has, once again, sent you to the fix the problem. That is why he keeps you in his employ, after all.
Join us for a long running campaign set in the misty, coastal forests of Skogholm Reach. We will be using the DnD 2024 rule set. Players can choose any character options from the 2024 Player’s handbook, with one house rule. If a character has multiple classes, only one can be level 3 or higher. This will limit characters to a single subclass. We will be starting at level 10, so bring an appropriately leveled up character without their Ability score filled in.
This campaign will run for several months. Please make sure you will be available on Wednesday nights for a while, before signing up. We will do session 0 to discuss the setting, players’ interests and handing out magic items. The X-card will be used as a safety tool.
