Hitchcock Woods Hike

27 December 2025, Saturday, 11:15am Hitchcock Woods, 3 miles. Hitchcock Woods is located next to downtown Aiken SC and is the largest Urban Forest in the country. Located in the sandy foothills we will follow Whitney, Old Country, Witch Hazel, Red Cliffs, and Mr. Fletchers Ride Trails. These moderate trails traverse some elevations where encounters with open meadows, wetlands, and small creeks, provide peaceful views and opportunities for wildlife spotting. Join us for this end of year hike to work off those holiday calories! Dogs are welcome on nonretractable leashes only and cannot enter the Woods until 11:30am because of horse/hunt activities. Bring hiking shoes or supportive sneakers, water, snack and walking sticks or binoculars if desired.
