Visit to Southend Pier Museum followed by optional Pier Walk

A visit to the Pier Museum offers a detailed insight into the the fascinating history of the world’s longest pleasure pier.

Many features have made The Pier so popular and enjoyable. From the unique Pier railway, to the entertainment of visiting pleasure steamers, to the dramatic disasters and war history of The Pier.

Discover it all at the Southend Pier Museum which now offers free entry.

The main entrance to the museum is down a set of fairly steep stairs, with handrails. If required, step free access can be arranged through Adventure Island - but only with prior notice.

I’m not sure how long we will be here, but once the majority are finished we will proceed by foot to the end of the Pier (1.33 miles). £3.10 to walk each way (£2.10 over 60’s).
