Let's enjoy the snow with a hike at Biscuit Run Park; Albemarle County's newest and largest park. We will begin on the Foothills Loop Trail, then do an out and back to the Buck Family Homestead site and return to the Foothills Trail for 5 snowy miles.

We will meet at the parking area at 2020 Scottsville Rd, Charlottesville. There are good bathrooms and plenty of parking.

For those interested, after the hike we will head to the Whiskey Jar for lunch or a sip where fellow hiker Jonathan Cook will be playing traditional Irish music from 12-3. https://www.thewhiskeyjarcville.com/

Notes:

  • I am always bossy about water; even if it's cold.
  • The trails could be icy so I would recommend that you pack your micro spikes.
  • I don't typically use poles but will bring them on Saturday.
  • Leashed dogs welcome.
  • I don't hike in the rain and will cancel if the weather is nasty.
  • I limit my woods and mountain hikes to 14 people; no guests.
  • If you can no longer attend, please change your RSVP.
