New Year Hike on the Rivanna trail: about 5 easy miles.

Let's start the New Year 2026 with walking on Rivanna trail to enjoy the nature.
Use caution crossing the creek; Cross the creek on stepping stones, continue through forest and field. Look for wildlife in the park.
We'll do the Rivanna from 5th Street to Stribling Avenue and turn around at the train bridge. The trail crosses under Bent Creek Road.
We will meet on January 1, 2026 (Thursday) at 11 AM.

Meeting Point: Parking lot. behind Starbucks
601 5th St SW Unit 100 · Charlottesville.
What to Bring/Wear: water, snacks, good hiking shoes and hiking poles if you prefer.
Weather: If plans change due to weather I'll update in the comments section.

Dog Policy: You are welcome to bring well behaved pups: Must be on a leash and please pick up after your pet.

RSVP: If you find you’re not going to be able to attend, please update your RSVP to “Not Going” as soon as possible. This allows those on the waitlist to have the opportunity to attend.
