(MS) Walhalla Fish Hatchery to Ellicott Rock - Ron Anderson
Details
We will carpool from the Publix at University Square at 9 AM. Alternately, meet at the Walhalla Fish Hatchery Parking area at 10:15.
This is a great hike to the survey marker from 1811 delineating the point where SC, NC, and GA meet. A more accurate survey later moved the point downstream. It is a little less than 8 miles total with 793 feet of elevation gain. We will hike downhill to the Chattooga River and then upstream to the marker and return. Listen for the banjos.
I move about 2 miles an hour so plan for a leisurely pace if you attend.
