This Wednesday, the carpooling group meets at University Square at 8:00am for a prompt 8:15am departure. (Jones Gap SP gate opens at 9:00 am.). University Square Location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/at82aDCL3BwVkZQ59
Trailhead - meet at 9:05 am, ready to hike ASAP.
Trailhead location: Start at Jones Gap SP parking lot. The lot is on the right, shortly after the entrance gate. Location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/jGU3LPJuupefqixG6 .
HIKE DETAILS:
We will start at the Jones Gap SP parking lot. We hike past some Park buildings and head up the Jones Gap Trail. We enjoy a side trip to Rainbow Falls, then return to The Jones Gap Trail. Heading further up the Middle Saluda River valley, we will see the following water features: Jones Gap Falls, Ben's Sluice, Toll Road Falls and Silver Steps Falls. After Silver Steps, return to vehicles via the Jones Gap Trail!
DESPEAUXRADOS/GNHA NOES:
This group meets Wed at University Square Shopping Center. The specific hikes are described 1 to 4 weeks in advance and target hikes which are 10 miles long and climb 2000 ft. We hike at approx. 2.5 MPH, faster or slower depending on terrain.
