Local Walk: Shenstone and Roman Town
Relatively straightforward public transport friendly walk from Shenstone Village passing the historic Roman settlement of Letocetum as it encircles countryside to the south of Lichfield.
Logistics:
Meet: 10:45 check-in for prompt start within a few minutes once all visible are ready
Distance: Around 7.5 miles
Start Point: Outside the Railway Inn opposite the village triangle where there is a war memorial.
Arrival: Shenstone Train Station (on the Redditch to Birmingham to Lichfield cross city line) is only 100 yards away for train travelers, or there is parking in local streets, such as Main Street.
Terrain: Local farmland and riverside with only very gradual ascents.
Refreshments: Bring fluids and picnic lunch, with a pub stop at the end.

As with any outdoor activity, there is some inherent risk. Whilst we aim to avoid unnecessary risks, participants should take all reasonable precautions themselves. A suitable pace for the walk will be determined by the walk leader, which others must observe by keeping in visible distance, not forging ahead or lagging behind. Those attending are totally responsible for their own safety. You must be comfortable walking the specified distance in order to attend please.
RSVP Commitment:
Places are not unlimited, so withdrawing in the last 24 hours is not allowed. Attendances shouldn't be compromised by ghosting (no-shows, late withdrawals, and uncommitted waitlisting) so reliable attendees will take priority at future events.
