Hike: Daves Creek Binna Burra 12km/ 4hr/ grade 4 + Teahouse refreshments.

Dave's Creek Circuit (12km/ Grade 4/ 4 hours) is a favourite with plenty of changes of scenery, vegetation and views! Numinbah Lookout will be a quick morning tea stop with another break or chance to scramble Surprise Rock along the way too. We should be back before lunchtime to enjoy social refreshments at the Teahouse.
Please consider your fitness, if you cannot keep a reasonable pace over 12 kms then this may not be the hike for you. It won't be a land speed record, but this is not a slow walk and wait while you brew a coffee type event.
BRING: Plenty of water (2Lt minimum), snack for morning tea, clean hiking boots or shoes, hat, sunscreen, non-aerosol insect repellent and $2 donation toward Meetup and organiser costs.
All Members are also asked to bring a first aid kit on every hike including snake / pressure bandage. Keep in mind it can easily be 10 degrees colder on the mountain, and the micro-climate can add unexpected storms, so layers, wind protection and warmth are important.
CARPOOL: meet to coordinate car pooling at Robina Train Station undercover car park (google maps ‘Robina Station free carpark 2 - Cheltenham Drive) leaving at 6:40am. Please bring $ for drivers toward petrol costs, plus a plastic bag with clean shoes for the drive home.
MEET Binna Burra: tracks info hut (end of the road) in front of the public toilets at the top carpark near Teahouse.
Parking may be limited, consider car pooling and give yourself time to park in the saddle and walk up a few hundred metres.
NOTE ON ATTENDANCE:
Due to limited numbers as per QPWS rules, do not join as ‘Going’ until you are sure you WILL attend. If you are unwell, please change your RSVP to "NOT Going" asap so waitlisted members can be updated.
On the day, plan to arrive early so you have time to park and find the group. The hike leaves at 7:55am. We will wait 5 mins for latecomers. Mobile coverage is limited so please avoid messages/ texts/ calls as I may not receive them.
