YOU MUST EMAIL ME TO ATTEND THIS HIKE, OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE WAITLISTED!
We will tackle 2 of the 46 4000-footers in the Adirondacks: Cascade and Porter. These two summits are generally considered to be the easiest ascents in the Adirondacks, which, by any other standard, is difficult! This is a difficult out-and-back hike starting from the Cascade Mountain Trailhead at 7:00 AM. We will take the Cascade Mountain Trail to the summit of Cascade Mountain before branching off to the Porter Mountain Trail to the summit of Porter Mountain. We will descend the way we came back onto the Cascade Mountain Trail. Micro spikes, headlamp/flashlight, and snowshoes are required. Please carpool for this hike. There will be an initial 5:00 AM meetup in the South Burlington Starbucks parking lot (next to Shaws and across from Market 32) to encourage carpooling. Meet at the Trailhead at ~7:00 AM. Please leave your doggy at home.
Difficult Hike/snowshoe, relaxed to moderate pace. 6 miles. 2300′ elevation gain.
Group limit 10.
