G'day folks,
I talked about TWIN PEAKS: THE RETURN at our discussion of MIRROR briefly in relation to dreams/memories portrayed on-screen. In a moment of serendipity, The Princess Cinemas just announced that they'll be screening all 18 episodes over several weeks.
For those interested, I'll be attending the first screening of Episodes 1-3 on Tuesday, February 24 at 7pm at the Princess Cinemas Original (6 Princess Street West, Waterloo).
I've referenced THE RETURN numerous times across many discussions over the years, as it happens to be my favourite piece of both cinema and television ever (the first two episodes screened at Cannes Film Festival, so although it's technically a television show, the powers that be considered it on the same level of our beloved cinema).
There's just nothing else out there like it. It helps if you've seen the original TWIN PEAKS series, but even then, it's not essential viewing, as THE RETURN is really its own beast and not necessarily a direct continuation.
