-== Beginner Track==-
This event we will get you started with setting up your VM of Kali and briefly discuss maintenance, and connect you to the HTB platform. Then we will move on to attacking an easy HTB machine. Please ensure you download the prerequisites before the event if you intend to follow along and get support getting started. There will be giveaways at the end of the event.
- Prerequisites
· Download Virtualbox (suggest installing this before the event as you may need to reboot)
· Download Kali Linux VM (VirtualBox) *remember to extract it when downloaded before the event as it takes a while its 3.5GB

- Your System Requirements
your system requirements for this setup is most likely any compatible CPU And 4 GB of available ram so at least 8GB of ram on your system. Worst case Kali can run on 2GB of ram but it will be a bit average performance. We can discuss in the event.
- What you will need:
- a HTB account
- Linux PWN box - Highly suggest making use of a personal VM over the HTB PWN box but if you need to this is ok
- Join the Discord server https://discord.gg/BYTUB6cbEN
- Connect your email to your HTB account before the event if possible so I can add you to the private HTB instance for the event... (I will not be retaining anyone’s info and will respect your privacy, however HTB obviously has your info already)
Rules:
- must be 18+ (if not will you require parental consent of some type)
- no bad behavior of any kind will be accepted
- we welcome all religions, ethnic backgrounds and sexual orientations...we are the weirdos lol
- no recording and or sharing info in these events and there will be no handouts they are just for the event
- no sharing of sensitive info from the event
- everything we do is ethical
Note: that this is a passion project for me representing HTB, I love Cybersecurity and learning. I feel the best way to validate my own skillset is to share it with others, and also learn from them as well.
Hope to see you there.
