We'd like to make May as interactive and hands-on as possible, so bring your laptop if you can.

6:00pm Arrive / Socialise / Grab a drink

6:30pm Luke Bacon (http://equivalentideas.com/) from the OpenAustralia Foundation (https://www.openaustraliafoundation.org.au/) will show us the joy of web scraping, a flexible and powerful way to collect data for your projects. Luke will show us how scrapers are the backbone of OAF’s civic hacking projects, and walk though how we can use them in our own projects.
