Dungeon of the Mad Mage
Details
The party is 15th level. We are doing part of the Dungeon of the Mad Mage. The games are in my dining room and I have a very excited, over friendly dog who loves to be involved.
Around the corner comes two iron golems and a Lillin Sorceress. Lucky approaches and attempts to negotiate with and pick the pockets of the demon. The sorceress asks the heroes where they are from and tells them to move on. She also tells them that the master will be very upset if they mess with his stuff. They decide to check out the doors on the west passage. The first has a rune of time and looking in, Barak sees that the door is on the edge of a mountain overlooking a prehistoric valley. The next door has a red cross symbol and opens into a hospital corridoor. The third door opens into a tavern. The heroes decide to enter a vast tavern which is full of various monsters having drinks and socializing with one another. The bartender is a Mercant named Chuck who Lucky talks to and buys a bottle of magical wine and discovers that Chuck is a plane traveller and own's Chuck's bar and grill. Meanwhile Igor orders a drink and talks up the security staff, a Valkyrie who offers to take him to Valhalla. Barak runs off to the hospital door and goes deeper finding a gruesome operating room. He decides to head back but the door is no longer there. Igor, Lucky, and Kasmut decide to leave the bar and check out the doors to the south. Igor opens the first one which leads to a dark chamber full of enormous webs and a tunnel. Someone can be heard shouting in the distance. Insects are crawling on all the surfaces and fly through the air. Igor closes that and opens the next door which is open space pierced by pillars of light. They decide to return to the hospital door and find Barak waiting for them. Kasmut stays back and the heroes explore the hospital, entering the operating theatre. Dr. Chance arrives and the heroes ask him to revive the body of Scarlet. He agrees and calls his assistant to help. An interlocutor arrives and they set to work cutting and adding things to Scarlet's body until she awakes, alive but horribly changed in form. The heroes decide to show Dr. Chance and his assistant the way out and explore the hospital some more, finding a hospital identity badge. Together again they check out the east hall. The hall is guarded by 10 more iron golems and two more demon sorceressess. The first door has a dragon symbol and leads into a large cavern. The next door has the Prince in Yellow and opens to a wasted plateau with a desolate monastery in the distance. The last door has a garden symbol and leads to lush meadow dominated by a wide stone ring, with a thick forest in the distance. Lights flicker about the place and a large white stag emerges from the forest and stares down the group. The party decides to rest at the tavern and then head into the time door, flying down the mountain on the carpet, leaving Lucky behind as door keeper. They encounter some Ophidian archaeologists and are ambushed by a T-rex.
