We are hosting the legendary Southern Wisconsin Hiking group from Madison! They are a fun group and we had such a great time with them last fall.
If you have signed up with that group DO NOT sign up here. I am limiting my group to ten so we can confortably and safely accommodate the visiting group. Please stay on the waitlist as numbers will fluctuate and I will try to get everyone on board.
Hiking will start promptly at 11:00 Please arrive 15 minutes before start time to use restrooms and to get organized.
If you miss the 11:00 start time, wait at the east side of pucketts pond parking lot as we will be coming off the grasslands trail at 11:15 and will pick up strays at that point. Check the comments early am if weather is a factor. If thunderstorms are in-the area we will not hike. Rain, depends on severity. Check this post early morning before heading out.
This will be a 4 to 5 mile hike walking grasslands, wooded trails, some paved roads, beaches, wooden bridges and SWAMPY areas. Brisk walking speed is encouraged. Hiking boots are preferred as we are in swamps. We will have 15 minute break at the beach to roam, take in the sights, mingle and photograph the incredible view. There are no hills but not suitable for a beginner due to the length and pace. Long pants and hiking boots are recommended. BUG SPRAY, hats, water and sunblock will make this more enjoyable.

As the seasons turn expect to see an amazing array of wildflowers, wildlife and spectacular scenery.
This hike is free. It is the Fun Free weekend so parking and admission is free!
Free will offerings are gratefully accepted by the host to offset meet up costs.

Dogs are allowed, leashed and socialized.
There is a specific dog beach where you can let your dog swim and play in the waves.
