Hike, Picnic, Swim Chatfield Hollow, Killingworth CT

This is a multi activity event for Labor Day Weekend. It includes a choice of 3 hikes, a picnic, and swimming.

Please arrive at the park by 8:30. You may find parking near the picnic area, beyond the picnic spot, or near the gate.
Meet at the picnic spot across from the beach to choose your hike. That is where I dropped the pin for the GPS.
Tom, Ken, and Lori will be offering different levels of hikes within the park. You will choose a hike when you arrive. Chatfield hikes will be mild to moderately challenging.

After hiking, please join us for picnic lunch and swimming where you met for the hike start. This is an elevated area near the bathrooms.
Provided for you will be paper goods (plates, cups, bowls, utensils), hot dogs, hamburgers, condiments, water, table, tent, .
You will bring:
a food item to share
non alcoholic beverage for yourself or to share
a chair
bathing suit
A $5 to $10 donation to cover expenses.

This is hiking but also socializing and relaxing for the afternoon. A thank you for all who have enjoyed CT hiking with Hartford Area Hiking.

Please wear appropriate hiking clothes including hiking boots. Bring a small pack with water and snacks and bug spray.

You can also choose to just socialize in the afternoon. Don't want to hike, just come a chill by the pond.

Please check your route, download the GPS at home, know your travel time. Arrive early enough to start at the posted start time.
Items you must consider for every event:

• If you have an event after a hike, please do not sign up for the hike.
• End times are only an estimate.
• The group will not adjust speed or trail route to accommodate your schedule.
• If you cannot attend an event, please cancel 48 hours before. Late cancellations are rude and take away the option for others to join the event.
• Be a good hiking human
