### Who is Carlyn Wice?
As a human resources consultant serving small businesses and nonprofits across California, I've seen how tough it can be to manage hiring, retention, and compliance—especially when you're growing fast or wearing multiple hats. Maybe you’re hiring your first employee and want to do it right. Maybe you're losing sleep over whether your policies are up to date. Or maybe you're struggling to keep great people without the budget of a big company.
You're not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. I help founders like you navigate complex employment regulations, build solid HR foundations, and create workplaces where teams thrive. Whether it’s drafting compliant policies, supporting thoughtful hiring decisions, or helping you retain the talent you’ve worked hard to find, I’m here to make HR feel less overwhelming—and more human.
Social responsibility has driven me my whole life. I bring experience in teaching, research, and social work. And lots of passion and excitement. Since 2020, I've helped nonprofits and small businesses comply with HR regulations and build their teams. I've earned a BA and an MA in Psychology from USC and an MSHR from Pepperdine.### What is Harvest Goal Collective?

Friends Don’t Let Friends Write Bad Books is a practical, high-energy, slightly irreverent 6-part course designed to guide aspiring nonfiction authors through every stage of the writing and publishing journey—from messy idea to market-ready masterpiece. This course is co-led by a seasoned ghostwriter and a trusted hybrid publisher, giving you behind-the-scenes access to the two people who matter most in your book’s life: the one who helps you write it and the one who helps you share it with the world.
Mattie Murrey is a ghostwriter, editor, and book coach who helps executives, entrepreneurs, and thought leaders finally write the book they’ve been thinking about for years—but haven’t known how to begin. Whether it’s imposter syndrome, lack of time, or just not knowing the next right step, Mattie knows the roadblocks and built My Own Ghostwriter to clear them.
Her boutique writing agency offers a full range of writing support—from Done-For-You ghostwriting and ghost copywriting to Done-With-You guided authorship programs and Do-It-Yourself coaching and editing. No matter where you are on the journey, there’s a path forward.
Mattie’s motto—“Friends don’t let friends write bad books”—reflects her mission: to help every author write with clarity, confidence, and purpose. She also speaks on storytelling, authorship, and business communication, inspiring others to turn their ideas into powerful narratives that connect and convert.
Alyssa Petz is the co-founder of Upword Publishing, a hybrid publisher that helps founders and business leaders publish books that don’t just sit on shelves—they attract leads, build authority, and grow businesses.
With over a decade of experience in data analytics and business strategy, she brings a thoughtful, results-driven lens to every project, while her partner adds creative spark through deep expertise in marketing and branding.
Together, they’ve created a process that makes publishing feel less overwhelming and far more purposeful.
Alyssa has a particular passion for working with mission-driven women ready to amplify their voice and vision.
