👤 Speaker Bio: Nikesh Vange is a seasoned cybersecurity professional with over 10 years of experience specialising in cloud-native security, DevSecOps, and enterprise security solutions. Currently at InfoTrack AU in Melbourne, Nikesh holds certifications including CISSP, CCSP, OSCP, CTMP, and DevSecOps.He has completed advanced studies in areas such as cybersecurity and privacy for IoT systems and is passionate about enabling secure digital transformation, strengthening cloud and application security, and mentoring the next generation of defenders.
At BlueCon#0x10, Nikesh will break down the disconnect between pentesting and application security, explaining why context matters far more than just findings — and how defenders can use this insight to elevate their AppSec game.
🛠 Workshop:CTF 101 – Flag On! 🏴☠️🎣
This hands-on workshop introduces participants to the world of Capture the Flag (CTF) competitions. Learn how to get started, build the right mindset, and work through guided challenges designed to sharpen both offensive and defensive thinking.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the basics of Capture the Flag competitions and their role in skill development
- Learn the essential mindset for tackling CTF problems (think like both attacker and defender)
- Work through practical guided challenges covering reconnaissance, exploitation, and problem-solving
- Build confidence with common tools and techniques used in CTFs
- Develop strategies to continue learning and levelling up through community-driven competitions
Requirements: All attendees must bring a laptop with at least 8GB RAM and Kali Linux installed (VM or bare metal).
