Springbrook - Waterfalls, lookouts, caves & more π§ π π²
Details
Hey everybody,
This Sunday come along and explore Springbrook National Park.
After meeting up, we will take the hour long drive together to the first trail. From here, we will be doing four seperate trails, taking in many waterfalls, lookouts, cave systems and waterways as we venture through the park for the day.
- Firstly we will visit Purling Brook Falls, which is the biggest waterfall in the park, standing at over 100 meters. We will hike down to the base of the falls, taking in the impressive waterfall as well as the surrounding cliff face.
- We will then head off on a side track to Warringa pool, where we will have an opportunity for a swim at this beautiful water hole. Following this, we will then loop back past Purling Brook Falls up to the top of it, with a lookout over the waterfall into the valley below.
- After lunch at a picnic area, we will then carry on to the "Best of all lookouts", a spectacular lookout which on a clear day you can see all the way from the Gold Coast to Byron Bay.
- We will then venturing on to the Twin Falls circuit. This loop includes multiple waterfalls, an interesting cave system and an an impressive lookout point, with long views back towards the Gold Coast.
We will then finish up and aim to be back at the MeetUp point by 6pm.
Total walking distance is approximately 12km - please make sure your fitness levels are up to this distance.
IMPORTANT INFO:
- Event restricted to 15 people.
- One +1 per person allowed: please be sure to add to your RSVP.
- If you RSVP then can't attend, please give a minimum of 48 hours notice so others don't miss out: Please read our full RSVP and cancellation policy below.
- This is classified as a "Grade 3-4" walk (out of 5): There are some steep steps and uphills with overall above average difficulty.
- Please bring plenty of water as there will not be any chance to buy any once we leave.
- Please wear sturdy boots - Springbrook can be quite muddy this time of year.
- We will carpool from Chinderah - due to the current fuel price, fuel donations from non-drivers is polite and appreciated.
- Donations are appreciated to help cover the cost of Meetup fees.
Hope to hang out with you then :)

RSVP and cancellation policy
If you RSVP and then canβt attend an event, a minimum of 48 hours notice is required to cancel and remove yourself from the confirmed list. Once cancelling within 48 hours of the event, notification via a message and a legitimate reason is required (please note that weather forecast/rain is not considered an acceptable reason), otherwise this will result in a first warning and then if it happens a second time, it will result in your removal from the group.
The reasoning for this is that every event members on the waitlist would miss out on attending at the expense of others, so this is to make attendees accountable for their RSVPs and to be considerate of others wishing to join on the waitlist.
Thanks for your understanding.
