Keeping it simple & local - we help create opportunities for 50-plussers to try new things, discover new places, and make a new friend -or- two!!
Beyond the 50-year mark is no small thing and with that, life can bring many unexpected challenges! Many of us still find ourselves working full-time, having adult children move back home to save costs and cramp our style, saying good-bye to old friends as they retire and move away, and dealing with the inevitable loss of a parent or family member is par for the course.
If you are a native or newbie to the area, we hope you join us as we continue to navigate the challenges, partake in 50+ adventuring while sharing our stories, lifting each others spirits, and engaging our curiosity.

The Dandelion Cafe has been undergoing renovations and has a new surprise! You're invited to the Grand Reveal & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Sept 25th @ 4:30PM. *RSVP* if you are certain you can attend.
Safelight’s Dandelion Cafe is an integral part of Safelight’s job training program, outreach, community engagement, and agency funding support. The Café offers a safe place for survivors to gain skills and certifications in food service while earning a living wage.
The café is also a vital link to our community outreach, providing a space where our programs and services can be accessed in a supportive environment.
All profits from the café are used to support Safelight’s programs.

BARKTOBERFEST! Food, fun, and furry-friend festivities brought to you by the Asheville Humane Society! Bring your furr-baby and join us for this special event at Booda's Brewing Company.
Weather-permitting - we will reserve a couple tables on the back patio. This is an All Ages Welcome event, so feel free to bring a family member(s) or friend(s).
If you have never been to Booda's - they are a micro brewery with 24 taps! They also have wine, hard-cider, and non-alcoholic beverages, plus a full-service kitchen! There is FREE parking by Wells Fargo and the Visitor Center, both within an easy walking distance to Booda's.
