Tung Ping Chau ~ Island Adventure 🛥️

Hello Hike n Trail Adventurers, Here is our upcoming adventure with our new Captain in-charge, Raymond NG!!!

Tung Ping Chau is a scenic island with many geopark attractions. The unique sedimentary rock and various tourist attractions along the coast surrounding the island are too beautiful to be missed.

Quick Highlights:
Time: 8:20 a.m. - 6:45 p.m.
Difficulty: Level 4 out of 10
Distance: 6 km
Meeting Time & Location: 8:20 a.m. at Exit B of the University Station
Trail Details:

The Ping Chau Country Trail is nice and easy. We will also walk on the beautiful long and layered sedimentary rock along the shore line.

• Highest point: 50 m → very little climbing
• Clear, easy path
• Morning hike: ~3 hours around the island

What to Bring:

• Swimwear + snorkeling gear (optional, for afternoon swim)
• Hat & sunscreen (lots of sun exposure)
• Enough water & snacks (only limited shops/restaurants open on weekends)
• Proper hiking shoes (some beach walking)

Ferry Info:

• Route: Ma Liu Shui ↔ Tung Ping Chau
• Duration: ~1 hr 20 min
• Cost: $100 round trip
• Runs weekends only
• Sunday schedule:
• Depart Ma Liu Shui: 9:00 a.m.
• Depart Tung Ping Chau: 5:15 p.m.

Afternoon Plan:

• Swim/snorkel at Cheung Sha Wan
• Non-swimmers: can relax on the beach or at the seaside village restaurant. Or you can stroll along a short and easy path that goes across the island

Meeting Point:
We will meet at 8:20 a.m. at Exit B of the University Station in Ma Liu Shui. It takes us 10 mins to walk to the pier. Occasionally the ferry is full before 9. By arriving early would guarantee us a spot on the ferry and hopefully we can sit in the same area. For those who are late have to go to the pier by themselves.
