HIKING ALL SYDNEY HARBOUR. v2: Cronulla, Kurnell, Captain Cook to a GREAT PUB!!!

Details

Cronulla, Kurnell, and Cook at Kurnell (pub) is part of Sydney not many have been to. Trust me, this hike is one you'll want to do. With the whales coming North, the cliff faces are the perfect viewing point(s) in late May.

If you came on our Macmasters Beach to Killcare Beach & Hardy’s Hideaway Pub it’s in a similar spirit. If you missed it? Here’s your second chance at a memorable session... Cronulla Beach to Kurnell / Botany National Park to the site of Captain Cook’s Landing to… “Cook at Kurnell” for food and drinks.

Imagine this: “Hey Davo. Grandpa died. He left us the beach property. Let’s put some booze and beer kegs into his VW van and make a service window. And let’s empty out his trailer and put a kitchen in it. We’ll add picnic tables, umbrellas, live music and open a beach bar called Cook at Kurnell.”

Who knows if that's true. But Cook at Kurnell is exactly that kind of joint… I’ve been to the bar – love it. I’ve done an hour hike in Kurnell – love it. I want more to love. So? Grab my arm, and join me.

In our Hiking Sydney Harbour, this is Hike 6:
Hike 1, Dee Why Beach to Manly Wharf 17kms
Hike 2, Manly Wharf to Mosman Wharf 22kms
Hike 3, Mosman Wharf to Woolloomooloo Wharf 16kms
Hike 4, Sydney Opera House to Watson's Bay 17kms
Hike 5, Watson's Bay to Coogee Beach 15kms
Hike 6, Cronulla Beach to Captain Cook's Landing Spot 14kms

THE DETAILS:
10am Cronulla Station Meetup / coffee / bathroom time for 15min.
10:15am jump into cheapie taxis ($3-$4 per person) for drop off point (there’s FREE parking here too if driving). And the bus goes from the pub back to the parking lot).
1030am hike starts!!!

Winding through Cronulla dunes and onto the beach we’ll elevate into Botany Bay National Park… I’m not going to write a lot about it. It’s absolutely beautiful. Cliffs. Ocean. Views. It’s 10/10. It’s medium-hard with some uphill bits but nothing crazy difficult. 14.5kms so be fit, healthy, and bring some good energy and thirst for a beer or two.

The 987 bus is right across from Cook at Kurnell leaving 15min past each hour, so we’ll easily get back to Cronulla Station (or it drops close to our starting point if you’ve driven). Beers. Food. Whatever we fancy. More...

a) Don’t be late. Please don’t be late. Trains run often to Cronulla. TripView App it for your arrival time.
b) $10 for this one. Cash or PayID.
c) Please bring some gold coins, eh? You’ll be splitting a quick Uber / taxi with other hikers.
d) If you drive / park by "Greenhills Outdoor Basketball Court" and send me an SMS.
e) Honour your RSVP. No shows / last minute cancels are bullshit.
f) Fitness matters here... we're going into a National Park. Sand hiking. Inclines, declines, and some distance. Be fit for a challenging hike.
g) Bring good energy. Bring mates or dates. Chat. And laughs. Let's have some grand fun in Mother Nature.

See you for an epic hike and pub! MJ
