Whales, Manly Cave / Wormhole, 1970s Roof Bar! 8kms Sunday Session with a beer!!

“We Hike to a Yacht Party” is on on Saturday, so I'll certainly need to move my body on Sunday to clear the cobwebs and feel good again. So? Let's hike!

This Sunday session will be perfect for it, and with Harbord Hotel being one of my favourite pubs on the North Shore – we can drink / eat at their new 1970s inspired roof joint called “Bombies”. Oh right. The hike. The hike? Yes, the hike!!! It’s beautiful. And the whales are heading south.

THE HIKE.
It’s a charming, scenic, historic journey only 8kms long. It’s mostly downhill with some rocky bits for a tiny bit, but it’s an easy session overall. The highlights:
a) Fairfax Walk. The history. The views. It’s stunning. Guaranteed to see whales too.
b) Shelly Beach. Is there a prettier beach in Sydney? It’s gotta be on your list.
c) Manly Beach. The people watching. The waves and surfing. It’s my favourite beach suburb in all of Australia.
d) Manly Wormhole. Let’s check it out! Built over 100 years ago, get some cool pics while exploring.
e) Freshwater Beach. Australia’s first surf spot in 1915…
f) Harbord Hotel. One of the coolest pubs on the beaches with a new rooftop. The perfect finish at Bombies. 1245pmpm reservation made.

THE TRANSPORT.
I’m certain you all know how to get to Manly Beach whether you’re driving or using public transportation. The 161 Bus leaves from Stand C. See Guzman y Gomez? See the Manly Info Centre? Stand C is right there. We’ll all be queued up there for the 10min bus journey to the start to The Fairfax Walk. The 161 Bus leaves at 942am. Don’t miss that bus! After lunch, the 167 Bus is just out front of Harbord Hotel every 20minutes going back to Manly Wharf.

THE DETAILS.
A) Cancels / No shows. Treat your RSVP like a restaurant reservation. No show / cancel on the day? That restaurant is my hiking group – you won’t be welcomed in the future. Respect and manners matter. People want to meet you and hike with you!
B) Cost. $10 PayID (please wait to meet before you do) or Cash (preferred).
C) Safety. Let’s chat, let’s have some laughs… but let’s be safe.
D) Lunch is optional. Feel free to just come for a beer / wine as well.
