Uloola Falls is gorgeous. Indeed. But just you wait 'til you see Karloo Pool. WOW. As pretty as Figure 8 Pool? I'd say so. Every hike within THE ROYAL NATIONAL PARK (the 2nd oldest National Park in the world) is a winner. Another bonus - gotta love a train station to train station event. You'll be loving the waterfalls, greenery, and natural pools mixed in between this 12kms session.

WATERFALL STATION to ULOOLA FALLS, 6kms
“A perfect day trip from Sydney, Uloola walking track is a long but picturesque walk through the waterfalls, wildflowers and sandstone formations of Royal National Park. You won’t believe this long walk is only an hour from the centre of Sydney. Uloola walking track meanders through the picturesque highlands of Royal National Park, and you’ll soon forget you’re so close to civilisation.”

ULOOLA FALLS / KARLOO POOL to HEATHCOATE STATION, 6kms
We’ll stop for a snack at the waterfall / swim at Karloo Pool – some call it the best secret swimming hole in all of Sydney. I'd agree - the approach is like something out of a movie. 30min here for the swimmers seems reasonable. From here it’s a 6kms bush hike with challenging ascent through the lovely RNPark to Heathcoate Station.

12kms in total – 3 to 4hrs to hike it. Pub after? Yeah let’s do it (optional of course). The Arbour Heathcoate is right by the station… let’s roll in with tired legs and thirst to “cheers” to our adventure. This joint has normal priced schnitzel bigger than a bus wheel - you can share it and still fatten up!
