A beautiful hike… totalling half a marathon (20kms so you can brag to your mates)… lunch break at (easily) one of the best pub openings of 2025-26… beer, great food… what’s not to love? The perfect Saturday Sydney Harbour hike before we totally mix it up in late May with Coast to Coast to Whales to Wine (you’ll see – it’s coming).
THE HIKE (PART 1) .
It’s 10kms to the pub, so if you only want to do the first half and lunch? Cool. Want to do the whole hike (20.1kms - half marathon)? Read on! Want to only start at noon then do the 2nd half? That’s great, but please SIGN UP HERE.
(NOTE: TEAM - I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH AS I'M BAFFLED AT HOW MANY HIKERS CANNOT FOLLOW DIRECTIONS ON HERE - when you join this event, come back here and you MUST join our WHATSAPP GROUP!!!)
We meet in the courtyard in front of Customs House at Circular Quay Station… off we go. Sydney Opera House to The Royal Botanic Garden… Woolloomooloo Wharf, and up the stairs into quaint Potts Point and down to the gorgeous Rushcutters Bay Park.
We’ll weave through the mansions in Darling Point, then down to Double Bay / Double Pay… onward to the stunning Rose Bay with a hopeful 1150am arrival time to open the doors at Club Rose Bay at noon.
CLUB ROSE BAY!
This place is so, so cool ‘cause it used to be a rundown RSL you wouldn’t dare go into. Wait ‘til you see Club Rose Bay now… the design, the food, the military history, the pickleball & basketball court. It’s this homely-decadent pub… with top-notch perving situated 10.8kms into our hike. We need to get there at noon ‘cause by 2pm, this place is PUMPING every weekend. Our timing for lunch and a beer is Noon ‘til 115pm… let’s enjoy a proper pub stop. Stay and make a saucy afternoon of it? Or join me, and off we go…
THE HIKE PART 2
Rose Bay to Watson’s Bay is 10kms of Sydney Harbour in its glory… Rose Bay, Milk Beach, Shark Beach, Parsley Bay Bridge, and onto Watson’s Bay and perfect views of Sydney Harbour’s entrance at South Head & Hornby Lighthouse. Other hikers that fancy a sleep in might join us during this journey, and we’ll finish in Watson’s Bay right on the half-marathon mark (20.10kms).
From there, we’ll ferry back to Circular Quay…

Fitness. Yup. Fitness matters for all of our hikes – especially if we are going into National Park.
