Hike Description: Red Wash Canyon is located near Abiquiu one hour north of Santa Fe. After following a sandy arroyo, the group hike up to higher ground offering great views of the colorful arroyo and surrounding rocks. After lunch, the group will follow the arroyo back, enjoying walls of brilliant Abiquiu red and sulfur yellow sandstone, highlighted with streaks of copper green and calcite white. There are a couple off trail descents and ascents on rocky slopes. Be comfortable with that before signing up.
