Bear Mountain Summit Hike
Bear Mountain Trailhead, N34 53.602 W111 #51.893, Sedona, AZ 86336
This can be a difficult time of year for many of us. Let’s come together, move our bodies, and hold space for our grief with care, connection, and love ❤️
This is a difficult, 3–5 hour hike with significant elevation gain and rugged terrain. The trail leads to Bear Mountain’s summit, offering 360 degree views across Sedona, including Fay Canyon to the northeast.
Expect deceptive false summits, a brief descent into a small saddle, and exposed sections on rock with steep drop offs.
The summit can be cold and windy, so bring a windbreaker or warm layer. Shoes with good traction are required. Please bring plenty of water, more than you think you’ll need, along with snacks and layers.
Paid parking is required at the trailhead. A Red Rock Pass or America the Beautiful pass is needed.
This hike is best for those comfortable with challenging terrain and longer outings. Sharing is optional. Presence is enough.
