What we’re about
I want this group to be about doing some hiking, taking walks around town, and then afterward have a place to gather and get drinks. The theme will be to walk for about 1.5 hours and then have drinks afterward. I plan on having hikes around various places like the greenbelt and other random sites. This group is not for hardcore hikers, but for people who want to walk a bit and meet new people. I typically schedule about 6 to 7 events a month and sometimes more.
This group does cost me money to run. So donations are always welcome. If you are interested in being an event organizer let me know.

See all- Take pictures of the neighborhoodGalaxy Cafe, Austin, TX
Let's have a photo shoot in Central Austin and take pictures of the neighborhood. The theme will be to take pictures of the neighborhood for 30 minutes and then have drinks at Galaxy cafe. No photography skills are required - everyone’s welcome! If there is enough turnout I would like to schedule photo events every three weeks or so.
I have been doing photography since 2002 and always seek out interesting things to photograph. You can learn more about my work at the links below:

- Wells Branch TrailMills Pond, Austin, TX
Let's hike Wells Branch Trail and walk for 1.5 hours for a total of 4.3 miles. This greenbelt trail is a well-maintained, mostly flat gravel path -- no hiking boots required, but do use your best judgment. Along the way, we’ll pass through several underground tunnels and cross a couple of streets without dedicated pedestrian lights, so we’ll pause to regroup and cross safely together. The trail is mostly shaded and passes through several parks, some with path lighting. We should be back at the starting point right around sundown. Please bring at least 2 liters of water. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on the trail!

We’ll meet at the Lake of Wells Branch sign on Mallard Green Ln -- there’s plenty of street parking available at that spot. If your GPS routes you to Mills Pond park entrance instead, there’s a small parking lot there with limited spaces. It’s just a short walk from the Lake of Wells Branch meeting point, so feel free to park there if that’s more convenient.
NOTE: In the event of bad weather, I will issue a cancellation notice at least one hour prior to the event's start time.
Please note meetup has had a massive increase in price and has nearly doubled the fee to organize clubs. If you like the club and want to donate you can pay Kevin by Venmo here.
Finally, we recommend that you review information on the trail and that you come prepared for the hike (e.g., bring at least two liters of water, wear appropriate footwear such as hiking boots, and a brimmed hat.) All attendees are solely responsible for their own health and safety.
By RSVPing for this event, you are agreeing that you are taking sole responsibility for your own health and safety and, if any, your guests' health and safety. If you or your guests are not willing or are unable to take responsibility for your own health and safety, do not RSVP for this event.
- Lakeline Loop Night hikeLakeline Park, Cedar Park, TX
Let's meet at Lakeline Park for a night hike where we will walk about 3.0 miles. Since it is night please bring a flashlight. The trail is paved so street shoes will be fine for the trek. Please note that we will be meeting at The Mobile Kayak rentals (GPS coordinates 30°29′13″ N 97°48′54″ W) for which I will post a picture.
