What we’re about
This group is all about hiking with dogs! We mostly hike in the Sacramento foothills or high sierra east of Sac. We try to find places where the dogs can be off-leash responsibly. We limit the number of dogs that are allowed to join to keep the energy levels manageable and to make it easier to be off leash. We are not a fast paced hiking group. We take our time, enjoy the view, take pictures, chat and generally have a good time!
We do not allow dogs with prong collars or shock collars to attend our hikes.
We also do not allow dogs that are unaltered. All dogs must be spayed/neutered.
All hikers must clean up after their dog, pack it in-pack it out.

## Details
Lets hike to Bassi Falls. It's just east of Union Valley Reservoir. The falls should be very full. This is an easy hike with an uphill at the beginning, then slight rise in and out of the shade to the falls. It's 4 miles round trip following the creek part of the way. We will find a few places for the dogs to find water. The trail we will hike on is not too crowded, but there are more people at the falls that take the shorter route in. We will have lunch in the area by the falls and let the dogs play in the water.
We will start early to avoid crowds.Directions: From Hwy 50, turn left onto Ice House Rd . Drive 15.9 miles on Ice House Rd (stay to the right at the fork). Turn right onto an unmarked dirt road (Road 12N32A), just after crossing the bridge over Big Silver Creek (The turn is opposite Big Silver group campground). Drive 0.2 miles to a junction and keep right. In about a 1/4 mile there will be a wide area. (back-up parking area) Take the dirt road that goes downhill to the right, onto a road that looks like the entrance to the Bat Cave. This will take you to the trail head just before Millionaire Campground.
