DETAILS
9.1-mile loop trail loop between Tennessee Valley and Muir Beach, California. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes ~4 hours to complete. This is a very popular area so you'll encounter other people while hiking. Friendly dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The first mile or so, we will hike down to Tennessee Valley Beach then turn back and north to ascend 550ft over the next mile before mostly descending to Pirate's Cove followed by a gradual climb up the ridge and then down to Muir Beach. From there we will climb back up to the ridge, for approx 900ft gain after passing through the monastary and then down to the parking lot.
The hike is unshaded. It is expected to be in the low 60s and a nice sunny day but you know the Bay Area... So be prepared, wear layers, bring sun block if needed and bring at least 1.5 liters of water.
