Brigadoon By The Shore Beach & Boardwalk Walk at Corson't Inlet State Park

4-6 hours with lunch, 8-10 miles, sand dunes, beach, park.
Go at your own pace. We'll walk 2-3.5 hours on beach, two different loops, then go for lunch. We used to eat after 2 hours of walking, but both of our go-to restaurants went downhill after a change in management. So we eat elsewhere after we leave. Bring some food to nibble on.
The area is gaga with dunes, the state park lands, beaches, sand bars, and white water. The photo shows a view from the causeway that we walk from the parking area to Strathmere. I think the area may look nicer in person. We've seen zillions of birds, dolphins, and a baby seal on the beach (alive).
We only go off-season because it's cooler. Too hot to hike in warm weather. The beach is incredible on a sunny day: less visitors, less traffic, less travel time, etc. And we can walk the dunes in cooler weather. Too many bugs otherwise. Usually my main photo is a cartoon or drawing which tries to convey my idea about the hike. This photo is for real! (I think.) The area might be even more beautiful.
I call this event "Brigadoon" By the Shore because with the schlieren effect the buildings across the inlet from Ocean City in Strathmere look like they are floating in the sky like the mystical village of Brigadoon from the movie/musical.
Carpooling
To carpool from Hill House meet at 2 hours before event. Pick up at 30th St Station in front of Cira Center at 1 hr 45min before event. Each carpooler chips for tolls and gas at start of event. Email me 3-4 days in advance and receive a reply.
