A challenging and highly exposed ridge walk, offering expansive views of Pyramid Hill (大金鐘) and the Sai Kung peninsula.

Duration: 5-7 hours

Please keep a eye on weather conditions. If weather is deemed unsuitable, the event will be cancelled. An announcement will be made 2 hours prior to the start of hike.

Shui Long Wo Public toilet, junction of MacLehose section 3 & 4 > Shui Long Wo Archway > Kei Ling Ha Forest Track > Shui Long Wo campsite > MacLehose trail section 4 > Chuk Yeung Road > Muk Min Shan > Ascent on MacLehose trail section 4 > Wan Kuk Shan Summit (575m) > MacLehose trail section 4 > go around Pyramid Hill to Junction to Ma On Shan Country Trail Hut > Ngong Ping Viewpoint > Descent via the Ma On Shan Country trail > Tai Shui Tseng (大水井)> Po Lo Che (菠蘿輋)> Lakeside Garden (翠塘花園)bus stop on Hiram's Highway

** Points to Note:
High Exposure! Approximately 70% of the route is exposed to the sun. Preparation with water and sun protection is paramount.
Significant Ascent: Be ready for a challenging climb of approximately 694 metres.
Difficulty: This is a Moderate hike, suitable for regular hikers (Level 2.3 to 3.0).

  • Be punctual! The host / organiser will only wait for latecomers for maximum 10 minutes after meet-up time! No shows will be recorded. Habitual no shows will be removed from the group. (3 strikes = out)

Transport
Start: Take a bus (e.g., 99, 299X) or minibus (e.g., 807K) from nearby MTR stations (University, Sha Tin, Wu Kai Sha) or Sai Kung Town and alight at Shui Long Wo Bus Stop (水浪窩).
End: Catch public transport near Po Lo Che (菠蘿輋) or Lakeside Garden (翠塘花園) on Hiram's Highway.
