It has been quite a few years since we've been to Cha Kwo Ling - 茶果嶺. The ironic thing was that at that time, it was suppose to be demolished. Most of the village is still standing, albeit roughly. Luckily the Tin Hau Temple on the outskirts of the village has been rebuilt and is a well maintained Tin Hau Temple, worth the 10 minute from Yau Tong MTR Station.

Cha Kwo Ling is one of the last Hakka villages in, what we call today the Urban Area, and is rich in history. Mostly dilapidated now, the village has seen a lot over the years. Tin Hau has stood guard for all those years. No doubt the city will swallow it whole someday so a visit to the temple and village will be a very special memory for years to come.

We'll meet at the bottom of the large staircase at exit B2 at Yau Tong MTR Station. Make sure to have your cameras ready for this one!
