TMCO presents From Darkness to Light

Details
The Texas Medical Center Orchestra’s From Darkness to Light concert marks a significant milestone as we celebrate 25 years of musical excellence and resilience. This concert reflects on our journey through challenges and triumphs, illuminating the power of music to inspire hope and transformation.
The evening opens with Felix Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op. 64. We are thrilled to feature as our soloist Dr. Mann-Wen Lo of the University of Houston's Moores School of Music, who will bring Mendelssohn's vision to life with remarkable artistry.
Following this powerful concerto, the orchestra will present Mahler’s Symphony No. 5, a monumental work that traverses a wide emotional landscape, from the depths of despair to the heights of joy. This symphony, with its iconic Adagietto, reflects the struggles and triumphs of the human spirit, making it a fitting tribute to our 25 years of dedication to the community and the arts.
Join us for this unforgettable evening as we celebrate our anniversary and the resilience that has defined our journey.
This concert will take place in Hobby Center's Zilkha Hall.

Hobby Center has a parking garage, which costs money but is the most convenient. If you're familiar with Downtown Houston/Theater District, don't mind walking, and are confident in your parking spot hunting and parallel parking skills, then you can park on nearby streets for free after 6pm!
Also, they have security (they are very nice). They inspect your bags so don't bring drinks! You'll have to chug them or pour them out. You can buy drinks at the Concessions window inside or refill your water bottle at a water fountain. The ushers are very nice and will show you where the water fountains and restrooms are.
