Heather Prather is the founder of WiseUp
Coaching & Consulting in Richmond, Virginia.
She holds a doctorate in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from
George Washington University and is recognized among
the top 10% of International Coaching Federation-credentialed
leadership and executive coaches. With 20 years of experience in leadership
development and evaluation, she has helped small, medium, and large
organizations maximize effectiveness and employee well-being.
Heather specializes in working with highly credentialed emerging leaders and C-
suite executives in STEM professions, blending her expertise in assessments,
coaching, and workplace dynamics to help clients gain clarity, confidence, and
direction. She serves as a trusted accountability partner, using science-backed
tools to support her clients' growth with one-on-one coaching, leadership team
coaching, and special workshops.
In addition to her consulting work, Heather has taught psychology at George
Washington University and organizational communication at Virginia
Commonwealth University. She was a panelist at the 2025 Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) annual conference on "Women's Progression to the C-Suite" and will present at the 2026 conference on "Work-Life Balance Myths."
