What we’re about
We hike during the middle part of the week (usually Wednesdays) because we can! Most of our outings are 7 to 10 miles at a moderate pace, 750 to 1800 vertical feet, and often somewhat off the beaten path. We will try to experience something new each time to give ourselves a chance to grow and learn. Our goals are more social, experiential, and educational than physical fitness, although you do need to be in reasonably good shape to enjoy the hikes. We're all grateful for the wonderful people who make this group so much fun!
Note: No Shows and late cancellations can have a significant impact on other group members by keeping someone on the Waitlist from being able to go. Please, just be considerate. If your plans change, we expect you will take yourself off of the Going list or the Waitlist with as much notice as possible.

3 reasons this is a great time to hike at Mt Bachelor:
- No mosquitoes!

11 (or 7) miles, 2,000 vertical feet
We'll start at the West Village base and take the new (opened in 2024) Evergreen Trail up to Pine Marten Lodge where we'll have an early lunch. Bring your own, or order off the new menu there: salads, pizza, burgers, etc. There will be a free optional 20 minute interpretive ranger talk during lunch. You'll probably recognize the ranger. ;-)Then we'll hike up the service road to the top of the Northwest lift where we can see around the corner to the lakes and hills to the southwest. We'll explore a couple of unique tree and lava features along the way.
Then we'll walk back down to Pine Marten where people can choose to ride the lift down for free (saving 4 miles), or return via the Evergreen Trail.
