Middle Section of Tumalo Creek
Details
This event is on a Thursday.
There will be a repeat of this hike on June 18th to try to take care of the long Waitlist for this one. On the morning of June 5th, I'll set up the Repeat, move everyone over in sequence from this Waitlist and Cancel list, and announce it.
Description: 8 miles, 900 vertical feet. Please note: The first 2.5 mile section of this hike is a little more rugged than our usual outings. There are no stream crossings. Some manzanita; I don't recommend wearing shorts or no-show socks.
This little-known loop hike starts upstream of the Shevlin Park boundary. It includes:
- My favorite stretch of Tumalo Creek
- A decomissioned canal which was started in 1904
- A bit of the Mrazek Trail
- A short section of an old dirt bike trail
- A couple of miles on a forest road
We'll meet at the Aspen Hall side of Shevlin Park and car pool a few miles from there.
