Details

Please Read the Entire Description

Shuttle required! Everyone must participate. You must be willing to either shuttle hikers to the start or take drivers back to their cars. Everyone must meet at the endpoint. Parking is limited at both lots so this event is capped at 10. We will shuttle to the start in as few cars as possible. Shuttle time is @25minutes.

Please join me for a traverse hike of the Shawangunk Ridge Trail across Sam’s Point and Minnewaska State Park. The Shawangunk Ridge offers beautiful cliff-top 360° views and miles of ridge-top trail through pitch pine forest. We will begin our day in the Shawangunk State Forest entering Sam’s Point up through South Gully. After taking in the views, we will continue on to VerKeerder Kill Falls, Mud Pond, Murray Hill, Castle Point, Rainbow Falls, ending our day at Jenny Lane.

NO SWEEP! Self-sufficient hikers only. Not a beginner hike. You should have completed hikes of similar distance and gain in the past and be confident in your ability to finish. You must be able to navigate on your own should you become separated from the group. Faster hikers are not obligated to wait for slower hikers.
