What we’re about
G'day
I am Gary Carson, the group organizer.
It's not surprising that there is a LOT of people, who live in Brisbane City who don't own a car and are frustrated at the time it takes to get to far away places on Public Transport.
Would you like to visit exciting places in and around Brisbane, the beautiful Islands and the regions beyond?
If you answered yes, well this may be exactly what you have been looking for.
You see, I own "Adventure Day Trips" Brisbane and I am also the proud organiser of the "Brisbane multicultural Friendship group" (another meetup group). and Meetup Day Tours from Brizzie
You see, it's like this , I absolutely love it when I see that a group of people who don't know anyone at the start of the day, chatting and talking a lot with their new friends they just met on the bus. With meetup groups it is so much better because everyone understands that it is a Meetup group and so you should be able to start talking to the people around you, find out if you have something in common and take it from there.
It gives me a real BUZZ to see this. In fact I have found that people just like you are the best people to go on a day trip.
There is a LOT of people who live within a 15 minute walk from the Queen street mall who would love to meet more good people without having to go to the pubs and clubs - this would be ideal for you.
I wish there was something like this when we came to Brisbane and didn't know anyone - or where to go on weekends.
Be absolutely assured - this group is not to come along with the intent of just finding a date. If you find someone annoying you , just tell me and , we'll drive off and leave them there hahahah. ( just joking )
And of course , I am trying to make a living out of this- I really need your support too. The other thing is we also support, farmers and the aboriginal communities .
If you join this group , you will be offered at least one free short tour from the city and the Mount Cootha- loop or something like that .
Here's the other good thing , you can use a discount code MWC of 15% to use on all "land based tours" with "Adventure Day Trips"
And this code MISLAND for 10% off any other tour ( including Island day trips)
Sometimes I will offer some 50% discounts to regulars on the land based tours and you will get an occasional freebie once you have been on a few tours. so be sure to mark the meetup tick box to say you want to receive messages from this group.
The tours usually start from just near King George Square in my very comfortable Mercedes Benz mini-bus .
I will try to drop you home after the tour if it's not too far out of the way. Most paid tours include light refreshments, sunscreen, hand sanitiser, some snacks and some tours include all meals.
But most of all, and what's really important is that you have lasting memories of your unique experience and possibly form some life long friendships with other group members-- Like it is a meetup group, right?
A few group rules before you join. If you don't agree, please don't join.
SAFETY and respect for all members is our highest priority.
PLEASE DO NOT COME IF YOU HAVE BEEN TO ANY DECLAIRED COVID-19 HOTSPOTS OR IF YOU FEEL SICK IN ANY WAY. If you sneeze on the bus you will be asked to sit on the roof --- Just joking, but you get my drift? We are operating under the Queensland Tourism and Accommodation Industry COVID Safe Plan; there will be times on this tour that social distancing is not possible while i.e.: sitting in the car or boat. Strict hygiene & cleaning practices will be followed and social distancing will be adhered to at all other times. You can bring a face mask if you prefer . Hand sanitizer available to travelers and staff Social distancing enforced throughout experience Regularly sanitized high-traffic areas Gear/equipment sanitized between use Transportation vehicles regularly sanitized Guides required to regularly wash hands
1. Please don't come if you just want to "pick up a date " It's not that sort of group. You will be asked to leave if you step out of line. Sure you may find the person of your dreams but please be respectful in how you go about it.
2. Members are NOT to contact other members of the group without first gaining clear consent from that person.
3. Please don't come to any events if you have signs of a cold, fever or have been near anyone that may have been in contact with Covid 19 or have been identified as a HOT SPOT in recent times and please observe the social distancing,
4. Please only join this group if your profile picture is of you- this is part of Meetups policies. Meetup has advised " We politely ask that the group requires members to have an actual profile photo, and that it would be unfair to some members who are following the rules."
5. If you RSVP and then not show up after 3 times in a row, you will be removed from the group.
If you agree to the above and if you want to enjoy a relaxing time with some great people- this group is for you!
