Lets make care packages and cards that will be sent to cancer patients in hospitals. We have been here before when they were located in Roselle but now they have moved to Addison. This has always been a fun and meaningful event for us so I hope you will join us.
"Phil Zielke was diagnosed with Stage 4B Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in 2004. Phil’s Friends began supporting others because of the support he himself had received. In June of 2009, Phil left teaching to devote his time fully to building the organization. Within a few months the organization moved out of Phil's basement and into the community to establish the Phil’s Friends Hope Center. Today, Phil’s Friends engages thousands of volunteers, who in turn, enable the organization to support hundreds of thousands of our friends with cancer across the United States through care packages, Cards of Hope, hospital visits, and prayer."
Once you RSVP yes you will need to fill out on online waiver form and sign up form. Read all of the following information carefully.
Volunteer activities include:
- Stenciling & coloring the outside of the care package box
- Completing cards of hope, which are mailed monthly
- Packing care packages, which are shipped weekly
Below is important information for registering for the upcoming Phil’s Friends volunteer session.
Registration for this event is a 2-STEP process to reserve your seat for this session.
STEP 1 – REGISTRATION
All volunteers MUST use this link to register and reserve a seat: Private Registration Link
Once you open the link, click the blue REGISTER box on the right side of the page.
STEP 2 – WAIVER COMPLETION
All volunteers need to complete the 2025 Phil’s Friends waiver.
Please complete one waiver and list ALL children that are volunteering in the space provided on form.
Please be sure to add the name of your group in the (GROUP NAME) section on the waiver form so we can identify which group you and/or your child are connected with. Your group name can be found at the top of the registration page.

Already completed the Volunteer Waiver 2025 effective January- December 2025? You do not need to complete another one. However, you must still REGISTER for the session to reserve your seat.

Remember that cancer patients are immunocompromised and must have donations that are new and unused. Please check the list in the link above if you want to donate anything. They can only accept the things on the list. In the email the biggest needs right now are travel lotions (5oz), women's journals, blankets and Biotene dry mouth oral rinse (6 oz). But of course they will be happy with any donation off their list to put in the care packages.
We encourage you to ask your friends, neighbors, loved ones or coworkers if they know of anyone who has cancer that would be blessed by receiving a Phil’s Friends Care Package.
