The next film is a period piece that pokes into England's violent past. The Nightingale (2018) by Australian director Jennifer Kent is revenge tale that uses Western tropes to tell the story of a young Irish convict tracking her prey in Australia. "Unflinching in its portrayal of England’s histories of violence in Australia, her sophomore feature seethes with an anti-colonialist and anti-patriarchal anger that’s difficult to forget." Mubi
