*Seeing if there's any interest in a Meetup like this, Pls RSVP if you begin reading and plan to attend. (Exact date could change depending on weather and/or personal schedule)Please try to read the book (or at least part of it) by the event date:
- The book for today's event its: A Walk in the Park (about hiking the Grand Canyon going the long way, not rim-to-rim).
- Click to view a synopsis of A Walk in the Park - on Amazon - or copy/paste this url: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1501183052/THE PLAN: is to read and then discuss the book for all or part of a hike.
Tentative hike date: The date is always tentative and might change due to weather or personal obligations.
Distance & Pace: The distance will be between 4.5 to 6 miles. I'm not 100% sure of our pace, but for casual conversation, I'm thinking it would probably be between 20 to 23min per mile.
BRING: Water (maybe sunscreen, hat etc., most of the trails have moderate tree coverage)
THE NEXT BOOK (tentative date Sep 21):
- In case you'd like to plan ahead, the next book will be Touching the Void (Ice Climbing in Peru)
- Click to view a synopsis of Touching the Void or copy this link: https://www.amazon.com/Touching-Void-Story-Miraculous-Survival/dp/0060730552/
- - To also RSVP for Touching the Void on Sep 21 - Click Here: https://www.meetup.com/indy-hiker/events/308279881/Have some book ideas? Great hiking or climbing or nature books that you've read? Suggest them in the comments and I'll gather and plan a list.
