Study of Chapter 14:

## The Forces of Evolution - The Three Guna: Verses 1 - 4

## Discussion Themes:

  • THE WITNESS: We have a special power, easily accessible anytime during our waking hours. A power enabling us to be as steady as a mountain, as supple as a stream, as reflective as a mirror. It's the power to step back from the world, our daily life, and our overflowing thoughts. It's the power to be the witness, not caught up and swept along impulsively by the play of life.
  • ILLUSORY DRAMA: We're entranced by the play of light and shadow, that unfolding illusory drama permeating our daily life, provoking desires, thoughts and actions. Life, often so beautiful, sometimes so terrible, is a fantastical journey prodding us to seek ever-greater freedom and peace.
  • THE GOLDEN WOMB: It's where Hindu Mythology meets the Big Bang when creation emerges from the 'Universal—Golden Womb', the Hiranyagarbha.

We're a multicultural group of varying ages, including our Vedanta Society members and friends. We always welcome new faces and hear new perspectives.
