## Discussion Themes:
- Desirelessness: Rather than imposing mendicancy on us all, the Upanishads recognized four goals for an ideal householder's life: Dharma - Righteousness, Artha - Sufficient wealth for our sustenance, Kama - Legitimate enjoyment of pleasures, and Moksha - Liberation of Mind.
- Desirelessness Vs Consumerism?: Wisdom from the East proclaims the greatest peace will be ours when we transcend desire, but the world's economies require us to be desire fulfilling consumers. If the education of those involved in running the world's economies includes spiritual values, wealth will be more equally shared, creating a more harmonious society.
- Enlightened Leaders Vs Societal Collapse: Ancient India extolled the ideal of philosopher Kings: wielders of great power but with perfect self-control, corruptless, fair and fearless. Such enlightened leadership can prevent the collapse of society. Spiritual knowledge needn't take us away from life but to live life more deeply.
