LoRa & Meshtastic: Connect Beyond the Grid 📡
Thursday 6 August · 6pm The Lord Anson
No mobile signal? No internet? No worries. This month,
Eliot Harper shows us how LoRa and Meshtastic let you send messages and share your location over kilometres using tiny, low-power radios and zero reliance on the telcos.
This one's hands-on. Eliot will walk us through how the tech works, then fire up a live Meshtastic mesh network right there in the pub.
You'll see real-world uses like off-grid messaging, GPS tracking, emergency comms, environmental monitoring and AgTech and then get to play with it yourself: configure a device, join the local mesh, and start pinging messages and location data around the room.
Zero radio, electronics or programming experience needed just bring your curiosity (and maybe grab a beverage and some dinner while you're at it).
Come along, meet some fellow tinkerers, and find out what your phone can do when the grid can't help you.
See you at the Lord Anson! 🍻
