Philo Nights! Creative night

Dear Friends of the Philosophy Meetup!
It's with great joy that we announce another Philosophy Night! Saturdays aren't the same without their weekly dose of philosophy and community.
To that end, we are currently partnering with Maison de l'Afrique in Rosemont (a few mins away from Beaubien station).
Meetup fee 12.00$
Fees cover our operations, and black coffee, tea, and some snacks are included.

Theme: Creativity

Being a driving force from grandiose works of art to daily problem solving ; creativity ranges from being both indispensable for being human to an undefined force that can be difficult to describe. Let us thus creatively dive into this theme with a philosophical lens!

Topics:

1. Can creativity be learned or is it innate?

2. Must creativity be exemplary (eg yield a useful result) in addition to being original in order for something to be deemed creative? What other aspects can be considered non-negotiable for a creative work?

3. Why is creativity so valued (in theory at least) as an ideal in our society ? Can creativity be considered a virtue (something to do for it's own sake) that everyone should strive to have?

For those not familiar with the format, here is how the night will work:
Topics don't need to be strictly philosophical, they can be social, political or historical, anything that the group decides is worth discussing.
Come by to see old friends, make new ones, and have stimulating discussions with amazing open-minded people from all walks of life!
