Great past meet up once again! Loved the connections everyone made on intuition, although I did feel that this meet up lacked a little structural integrity and as much as I am happy that we are making great connections I would ask that we limit side conversations while people are sharing as I think it would keep the flow going and this is particularly helpful for me as a facilitator, as I have a hard time staying focused and on track if too much is going on.
We will also, always have time to chat it up after the meet up as well!
I missed speaking on a few particular subjects, on the handout, which were: Setting boundaries/creating and Keeping Our promises & Self Trust, which we will get into in the next meet up. Here is some food for thought on self trust, for the prompt - (I know it’s redundant but it has a new twist here.)
Self trust can be cultivated through the understanding of intuition and in regards to intuition or what Malcom Gladwell calls thin Slicing: which is the process of our subconscious to take in a ton of information in a split second and use that for taking action, (Like when Jodi saw the bag was small during the guessing game, and made a split second deduction based on that), we can create self trust knowing our gut reaction is working for us!
Mary also brought up our adversity to uncertainty and in Guidepost(chapter) 6 Brene Brown states. “If we learn to trust our intuition, it can even tell us that we don’t have a good instinct on something And that we need more data (experience etc)
If we are uncertain - it could be just a sign for us to gather more information! According to Brene Brown:
“ Intuition is not a single place of knowing, it’s our ability to hold space for uncertainty, and our willingness to trust the many ways in which we’ve developed insight, including instinct, experience, faith and reason”. Pg 168.
The reading prior to this gives a great descriptor of why this is. (Go read about it! It’s free on hoopla As an ebook)
So the prompt for journaling and reflection, will be the same as in the hand out, but slightly modified, as we know that Intuition and trust go hand in hand and I know this is repetitive but with new insights.
_Reflection PROMPT:
Because our understanding of intuition can create trust - our trust therefore can help us create promises to ourselves that are authentically divine: _
Try to Create a promise that is intuitively driven. (Journal time!)
Try not to think too hard on it. But try to let your mind settle first with focused rest, meditation, or however you want to do it, to see what comes forth and then try to trust in your first reaction to what comes up. There are no wrong or right answers here! **
example: after settling my mind - What came up for me was the word acknowledgement. It also came through as a heart centered emotion, so… My promise will be to acknowledge all I feel. No matter what that feeling is.
Remember don’t try to reason it out consciously too much!
Please bring your journals for this meet up As we will go over the other two topics mentioned with prompts as well. As we have Lots to journal about!
Happy reflecting everyone and see you next time!
- If anyone wants the handout please send me your email on here and I will add it to the Google doc.
