June Whispering Meadows Wetland Park Cleanup

Come out to Whispering Meadows Wetland Park on Sunday, June 8 at 10 a.m. for a cleanup and celebration of this unique natural space in the South District! Bonus: We will be joined by a representative from Iowa City Parks & Rec to talk about some of the unique features of the park, and then spend an hour or so picking up the litter that collects along the trail.

We'll meet at the playground at Indigo Court entrance to Whispering Meadows Wetlands. Be prepared for mud and navigating through brush, some of which is thorny (sturdy shoes/boots + long sleeves/pants are recommended, as well as bug spray and sunscreen). Bring gloves and a litter grabber if you have one. We will have some extra grabbers, but come prepared with what you can.

How to find the location:

Coming from in-town take Hwy 6 to Lakeside Dr., then left/south on Whispering Prairie Ave. and left/south on Whispering Meadow Dr. The playground is on Indigo Court, just off Whispering Meadow Dr.
