### About this event
February is the season of Yanagawa Hinamatsuri – Sagemon Meguri (2/11–4/3). It’s a lovely time to visit Yanagawa, walk through the town, and enjoy a slower pace together.
We’ll travel by train from Fukuoka, take a traditional canal boat ride, walk around the old town to appreciate the seasonal atmosphere, and then take it easy — lunch, cafés, an optional onsen or footbath, and dinner near the station. Everything is relaxed and optional.
This is a social day out. You’re welcome to join for the whole day or just part of it. The focus is on spending time together, meeting people, and enjoying Yanagawa at an unhurried pace.

### Yanagawa Hinamatsuri – Sagemon Meguri
During this season, colorful sagemon (hanging ornaments traditionally made to wish for children’s health and happiness) are displayed around the town. Rather than one main festival site, the experience comes from walking through shopping streets, public halls, and everyday spaces where decorations appear naturally.
Some special events, such as the Hina Doll Water Parade, take place later in the season. This video shows what the water parade looks like (for reference only — it is not on our visit date):

### Canal boat ride
The canal boat ride is one of Yanagawa’s highlights. Boats are guided by local boatmen using long poles, passing under low bridges and along calm waterways. In winter, the boats are heated.

### Plan for the day (flexible)
08:30 Meet at Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station
Time to gather, buy tickets if needed, and get snacks or drinks.

09:56 Arrive at Nishitetsu Yanagawa Station
Short walk to the canal boat pier.
10:10–11:10 Canal boat ride
After the boat, we’ll spend time in the old town area, walking around and enjoying the Sagemon Meguri atmosphere.
Lunch (optional)
Lunch will be after the boat, in the old town. There are several restaurants and cafés nearby. Depending on how many people want to eat together, we may dine as a group or split into smaller groups and regroup later.
Afternoon (optional, relaxed)
Walking, cafés, shopping streets, and optional stops such as:
- tourist information center / public halls with sagemon displays
- museum
- onsen or footbath
Dinner near Yanagawa Station (optional)
Group-friendly place with vegetarian options.
Evening train back to Tenjin, arriving around 20:30–21:00.
Times may shift slightly depending on the group and the day’s flow.

Meetup fee: 200 yen (cash or PayPay, paid on the day)
This helps cover basic organizing and planning costs.
For transport and the canal boat, most people use the Yanagawa Sightseeing Ticket:
- Digital ticket: 3,210 yen (via Nishitetsu app)

### イベントについて
2月は 柳川雛祭り（さげもんめぐり／2月11日〜4月3日） の季節です。柳川の町を歩きながら、季節の雰囲気を楽しむのにちょうどいい時期です。
福岡から電車で柳川へ行き、川下りに乗り、旧市街を散策します。その後は、昼食やカフェ、希望者は温泉や足湯、夕方には駅周辺で夕食を楽しみます。すべて自由参加で、ゆったり過ごす一日です。

### 柳川雛祭り・さげもんめぐり
さげもんは、子どもの健やかな成長を願って作られる吊るし飾りです。この時期は、商店街や公共施設など町のあちこちで見ることができます。

### 川下り
柳川名物の川下りは、船頭さんが竿で舟を進める静かな船旅です。冬は暖房付きで快適です。

### 当日の流れ（目安・自由）
08:30 西鉄福岡（天神）駅 集合
09:07 柳川へ出発
09:56 西鉄柳川駅 到着
10:10–11:10 川下り
その後、旧市街を歩きながら さげもんめぐり を楽しみます。
昼食（任意）
旧市街のレストランやカフェで、人数を見ながら一緒に食べるか、分かれて後で合流します。
午後は散策、カフェ、資料館、温泉／足湯など自由行動。
夕方に柳川駅周辺で夕食（任意）後、天神へ戻ります。
