Atago 1: Raiders of the Lost Shrine

This is a 5 - 6 hour hike up the highest mountain in Kyoto city. Mt. Atago is 924 meters. Likely with snow.

Meeting point is Arashiyama Station on the Hankyu Line.

There is a convenience store and bicycle parking at the station.

Meeting time is 08.45 and we start walking at 9.

Atago: The trilogy
This hike is part of a series of three sessions. The first follows the blue trail. The second the red, and finally green.

The route
From Arashiyama Station we take a local bus to Kiyotaki bus stop.

From here we follow the blue trail towards Atago Shrine.

We hike back to Kiyotaki bus stop. The return trail depends on weather and energy levels.

Finishing point is Arashiyama Station.

Participation is 1000 yen. Please pay in cash upon arrival.

What to wear?
Please wear hiking shoes. Bring a backpack. NO hand- or shoulder bags.

Bring plenty of water, snacks and a packed lunch.
